PRODUCT

Product & Materials

What is Calora Sleep?

Calora Sleep is an independent sleep essentials brand creating skin-close comfort for calmer nights. We are beginning with a 100% Lyocell pillowcase made with a 100S fine weave, then building from the same idea: softer materials, quieter rituals, and better everyday rest.

How should I wash it?

Machine wash cold with similar colors on a gentle cycle. Avoid bleach and high heat. Tumble dry low or line dry to help preserve the smooth handfeel.

What is Lyocell?

Lyocell is a plant-derived fiber made from wood-based cellulose. It is known for a soft, smooth handfeel, breathable comfort, and a fluid drape that works well for bedding and pillowcases.

What makes 100S different?

100S refers to a finer yarn construction. Finer yarns can create a smoother, more refined surface with less roughness against skin and hair compared with many common 40S or 60S constructions.

Why use 100% Lyocell instead of a blend?

Using 100% Lyocell keeps the sleep surface consistent: soft, breathable, and smooth without cotton or synthetic blends. It lets the material story stay simple and clear.

Why do you describe the material as Lyocell?

Lyocell is the generic fiber name, so it gives customers a clear and accurate way to understand the material. Calora Sleep uses 100% Lyocell for a smooth, breathable, skin-close feel.

How is Lyocell different from cotton or silk?

Lyocell is usually smoother and more breathable than many basic cotton pillowcases, while being easier to care for than delicate silk. Calora Sleep focuses on a 100S Lyocell surface for a soft glide and everyday washability.

What does OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 tested mean?

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 tested means the finished fabric has been tested for harmful substances according to OEKO-TEX criteria. It is a useful trust signal for fabric that stays close to your face and hair.

How does it compare to a silk pillowcase?

Silk is slightly smoother, but you can't machine wash it, it costs two to three times more, and it snags. GLIDEWEAVE™ gets close to silk and goes in the wash.

Does it pill or snag?

The dense 100S weave resists pilling and pulls better than loose weaves. Avoid rough Velcro and cut nails/claws on the pillow.

Will it shrink?

Wash cold and tumble low and it holds its size. Hot washing can shrink any cellulosic fabric, so skip the heat.

Where is it made?

WHY IT FEELS DIFFERENT

Why It Feels Different

What is GLIDEWEAVE™?

GLIDEWEAVE™ — Calora's 100S ultra-fine Lyocell weave. Silk-smooth, breathable, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 tested, and fully machine washable. It's the fabric behind The Glide, and every product we make starts from it.

Is it only for summer?

No. Calora Sleep is designed for year-round breathable comfort, not a seasonal cooling effect. It is made for warm rooms, post-shower nights, skincare routines, and everyday rest.

Is it suitable for sensitive-feeling skin?

Calora Sleep is not a medical product, but it is made for close skin contact with 100% Lyocell and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 tested fabric. The surface is designed to feel smooth, soft, and less rough against the face.

Is it good for hair?

GLIDEWEAVE™ is designed to reduce rough friction and let hair glide more easily across the pillow. We avoid guaranteed beauty claims, but its smoother surface feels less abrasive.

Why is it good after skincare?

The smooth 100S Lyocell surface is designed to feel gentle against the face after your evening routine, without the roughness of heavier or coarser fabrics.

Is it a cooling pillowcase?

Calora Sleep is not designed as an icy cooling product. It is made with breathable 100% Lyocell to help the surface feel comfortable in warmer rooms and across seasons.

Is it slippery?

Smooth without the satin slide. Early customers describe it as “smoother without feeling slippery.”

Does pet hair stick to it?

Less than cotton. Hair sits on the surface and lifts off with a brush or a normal wash. More on sleeping with pets.
